Scott Howard is the CEO of Resonance, an organization focused on improving global health through research, education, and technology. He is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and a health economics professor at the University of Tennessee. With extensive experience in internal medicine, pediatrics, and epidemiology, he has worked for 20 years in pediatric oncology, specializing in supportive care, informatics, and international oncology.
Dr. Howard has held leadership roles, including Medical Information Officer at St. Jude and Chief Information Officer for the Guardian Research Network. He founded Resonance in 2015 and has co-founded global networks for leukemia and neuroblastoma research. He has been actively involved in global health organizations and played a key role in the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. He co-founded the Acute Leukemia Research and Care Network and the Global Neuroblastoma Network, facilitating collaboration among clinicians and researchers from six continents. He has served as the General Secretary of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology and Chairman of the Board of the World Child Cancer USA. He played a vital role in transforming the Pediatric Oncology in Developing Countries working group into SIOP Global Health, which encompasses 12 working groups. For 15 years, he directed clinical research activities and research capacity building for the St. Jude International Outreach Program, establishing an 8-center, 7-country research network in Central America. He also serves as the International Development Officer for San Juan de Deu Hospital in Barcelona, Spain.
His research interests encompass genomics, pharmacogenomics, big data, information systems, and point-of-care informatics. He is dedicated to improving patient care and access to essential medications worldwide.
