MARIA BADIKYAN

ADJUNCT RESEARCHER

Maria Badikyan is a former IMMONC fellow and a hematologist with a passion for researching and treating blood disorders. Currently, she works as a researcher in the scientific department of the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center in Yerevan and as an on-duty doctor at the same department. In addition, she is  a Medical Writer at ClinChoice LLC, where she creates and disseminates accurate and up-to-date medical content for a wide range of audiences.

She received her medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University in 2018 and completed her fellowship in hematology in 2021, the same year she passed the European Hematology Exam successfully. During her fellowship, she worked on data of patients diagnosed with essential thrombocythemia in Armenia starting in the early 2000s. Her primary field of interest is Ph-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). As a part of her fellowship project she worked on a project focused on the clinical significance of the JAK2 (V617F) allele burden and its potential influence on disease phenotype, disease course, complications, and management in MPN patients.

Currently Maria is an adjunct researcher at IMMONC. She is grateful for the opportunities and experiences she has had throughout her medical education and training. She has worked hard to excel academically and to develop her skills in treating hematological disorders. She is committed to improving patient care and to advancing the field of hematology through a research and clinical practice
