Gohar Geghamyan is a junior social science researcher with an academic background in Politics and Governance from the American University of Armenia. Her research focuses on the intersections of social analysis, public health, and sustainable development. Her academic journey began with the international PERITIA project, where she assisted in qualitative research methodology and data coding. This work on expert advice in policy scenarios has been published on the Zenodo open science platform and in the international journal “ETICA: A Yearbook of Ethics and Public Affairs.”
Currently, Gohar is a Research Assistant at the Immune Oncology Research Institute. Previously, at the Institute of Cancer and Crisis, she co-authored a pioneering review on the impact of conflict on cancer care in the Middle East (forthcoming). Her professional identity is further defined by a background in communications and copywriting. These roles in digital strategy and social media were instrumental in refining her analytical precision and ability to translate complex data into compelling, accessible narratives for diverse audiences. In addition to her research and communications work, Gohar has mentored over 150 students as a Trainer at Oogway Superhero School, where she delivered sessions on leadership, sustainability, and critical thinking to youth across all 10 regions of Armenia.
Gohar is currently expanding her practice by studying documentary photography at 4Plus. Her goal is to bridge the gap between her established skills in research and writing with visual storytelling, using the camera to provide a tangible narrative to the “unnoticed” details of human and social issues.
