AMALYA SARGSYAN

CLINICAL RESEARCH PHYSICIAN

Amalya Sargsyan is a Research Fellow at the Immune Oncology Research Institute and a Medical Oncologist at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center in Armenia. She earned her Medical Doctor degree from Yerevan State Medical University, where she was awarded a special nominal scholarship.

Dr. Sargsyan completed her Medical Oncology residency at the Adult Solid Tumor and Chemotherapy Clinic in Yerevan and pursued a Master’s degree in Precision Medicine in Clinical Practice at UCY, Cyprus, supported by the European School of Oncology. Her training included a six-month observership at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center and a rotation at the University of Cyprus’s Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research.

Since October 2023, she has been working as an adult oncologist at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, serving as a co-investigator on Trial IMMONC 00008 and coordinator of the International Breast Cancer Working Group with McGill University, Canada. She has received the ASCO IDEA Award and the Memorial Sloan Kettering GI Oncology International Mentee Award in 2024, and completed a training at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Her current research focuses on analyzing nationwide retrospective data on immunotherapy in Armenia to advance immune oncology.

Dr. Sargsyan is also dedicated to enhancing and developing clinical trial infrastructure in Armenia, aiming to boost the country’s capabilities and access to innovative cancer treatments.
