On December 14, 2024, the Immune Oncology Research Institute, in collaboration with the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center and the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology, hosted the Lung Cancer Awareness for Primary Care Physicians conference.
The event brought together general practitioners, oncologists, pulmonologists, and radiologists working in primary care to raise awareness about critical developments in lung cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Renowned specialists delivered sessions on key topics, including the latest advancements in screening and early detection, innovative drug therapies such as immunotherapy and targeted treatments, surgical and radiation therapy advancements, and the principles of multidisciplinary care and palliative support.
Approximately 60 healthcare professionals from primary care clinics across Armenia attended, gaining valuable knowledge based on the latest research and developments in the field. This knowledge is expected to enhance early detection efforts and improve the quality of care for lung cancer patients in Armenia.
