Amalya Sargsyan is a third-year Medical Oncology resident and research fellow at the Immune Oncology Research Institute. She graduated with a special nominal scholarship from Yerevan State Medical University, where she earned her Medical Doctor degree. In 2020, she started the Medical Oncology residency program at the Adult Solid Tumor and Chemotherapy Clinic at Hematology center in Yerevan. In addition to her clinical specialization, she was accepted to the master’s degree program in Precision Medicine in Clinical Practice at UCY, Cyprus, in 2021, with a scholarship from the European School of Oncology. During her master's program, she completed a 6-month observership at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center in Nicosia and a rotation at the Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research at the University of Cyprus.
Amalya is a fellow of ESCO since 2021 and a member of ESMO, ASCO, and ESO. Her primary research project at the Immune Oncology Research Institute involves collecting and analyzing nationwide retrospective data on the experience with Immunotherapy in Armenia over the past years, across all the experienced centers in the country. Her goal is to enrich the field of Immune Oncology in Armenia and promote access to innovative cancer care, allowing developing countries like Armenia to equally benefit from novel approaches.
